11 year-old girl allegedly tortūred to deāth in Jos,Nigeria

 

An 11 year old girl, identified as Margaret Joshua has been tortured to death, at Jos.

According to report, the eleven year old Margret Joshua was said to be living with Mrs Nneamaka Nwachuku a microbiologist who works in one of the research institutes  in Vom, Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.



It was gathered that the eleven year old girl d!ed as a result of allēged physical abūse by her guardian, Mrs. Nneamaka Nwachuku.

It was said that the vîctim, who lived in Kebbi State and was flēeing from insecurity in her community was brought to Jos to serve in Mrs Nwachukwu’s home by another woman.

The alleged abuser, a mother of two, did not enrol the victim in any school for over one year that the girl had spent with them, rather indulged in daily bēating of the girl until she finally d!ed as a result of the assault

Report revealed that the girl was forced to sit in a container containing  hōt water, which būrnt her būttocks, and later died in the hospital

The issue is currently being followed up  by Plateau State Coordinator of the National Human Rights Commission, Mrs. Grace Pam.


Mrs Pam while considering the  scars and wounds on the late eleven years body said the  guardians must have subjected her to series of tōrture during the period of her stayed with the family.
