The Delta State Government has advised Mechanical engineers on grade level 12 and above to be compliant with modern trend in their field of endeavour.
The Commissioner, Directorate of Transport Chief Mike Ukah gave the advise at Agbor during a two day capacity building workshop for engineers.
The Commissioner, represented by the Permanent Secretary Mrs Ngozi Nwanze who declared open the workshop called on participants to pay attention to the training, Stressing that transportation plays a major role at stimulating the economy.
The Commissioner commended the Governor who is also the Vice Presidential flag bearer of the people's Democratic party PDP for his quest at building the capacity of workers, with a view to building a better work force.
Delivering a lecture on the topic "Transport Management" Mr Ugagaoghene Ogheneyole stated the importance of Transportation as a key stimulous to economy development.
He noted that transportation decide the well being of the society, physically, economically and socially and affirmed that transportation, bridges the gap between production and consumption.
He encouraged the Ministry of Transport to regulate prices of transportation and prices of unit of goods per tonnes or Kilograms saying it would help to drive investment.
A former Permanent Secretary in the state Civil service , Dr Ofovwe while speaking on crisis and stress management x-rayed the consequences and control of stress in the work place.
The highlight of the training was the free installation of auto card soft ware in participants computers.
