The World rememberance day for Road Traiffic victims, has been marked in Asaba by the the Federal Road Safety Corps
The event which drawn attention to the negative effect of Crashes on the Nigeria Road, was well attended by all staff of the Command
The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr Udeme Bassey said the event which comes up every third Sunday of November anually was set aside to remember millions of persons killed and Injured as a result of road Crashes.
According to him, the world accident day for victims of road crashes had since being adopted by the general Assembly, and marked by serveral countries .
He discribed the day as an opportunity to draw attention to the emotional and economic devastation caused by road Crashes as well as recognition to road crash victims.
He advised road users to play by the rules of the federal road safety Corps ,to ensure good tires, install speed limit device, and to keep to all safety guideines.
The State Deputy Corps Commander, Operations Mr Fatai Adesina said the command would do all within it's limit to ensure an accident free road especially during the festive season
He commended the Sector Commander for deligently putting his skills to work to reduce the rate of accident in the embar months
For his part the Special Marshall Federal road safety corpsChief Kennedy Idolo call on Government at all levels to carry out maintanance and repairs on the Nigerian road stressing that bad roads were the leading cause of Road crashes.
