Intending Pilgrims to the holy land charges to be good ambassadors of Nigeria




Not fewer than 368 intending Pilgrims to the holy lands of Isreal and Jordan from the state have been Screened I Asaba preparatory to their airlift for the exercise.

Commissioner Bureau for Special Duties, Mr Johnbull Edama said government sponsorship of the pilgrimage indicated Governor  Okowa's acknowledgement of the impact of the exercise on the well being of the State.

He enjoined the intending pilgrims to reciprocate the gesture by being good ambassadors of the state and Nigeria in general and pray for Nigeria especially the 2023 general elections

The chairman of the States Pilgrim welfare board Archbishop Cyril Odutemu,commended the state government for the regular sponsorship of the pilgrims to the holy land noted that there had been not be any record of abscondment of pilgrims from the state

He however charged them to us came from heart that could damage the image of the States

The Special Adviser to the State governor and Chairman of the state wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) senior Apostle Sylvanus Okorote enjoined the intending pilgrims to give correct information about themselvesto avoid disqualification from the exercise.He encouraged them to pray for governor ifeanyi Okowa to succeed in his vice presidential campaign.

The executive Secretary of the state Christian welfare pilgrim board Apostle Samuel Okoh. appealed to the pilgrims to see the pilgrimage as a serious spritual exercise that should not be used for commercial activities.
