NYSC trust fund , set to empower Corp members says acting DG.


 Acting Director-General,  National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Mrs Christy  I Uban has  said the signing of the Scheme's Trust Fund bill into law would empower corps members after service.

Mrs Uban stated this shortly  after the inspection tour of the construction of 700 male and 700 female bed capacity hostel at the NYSC camp Issele Uku in Delta State.

According to her, the Trust fund will go a long way at  providing resources for the NYSC to empower corps members at the end of their service year , thereby providing them with start up capital to enable  them own businesses of theirs.

She stressed that the  fund would create resources for a greater percentage of corps members trained under the NYSC skill acquisition programmes.

According to her the NYSC Management is awaiting President Muhammadu Buhari assent, to the bill due to its importance .

The DG noted that the  SAED started in  2012 and  had established   various skill acquisitions training programmes in camps to harness the potentials  of corps members.

She noted that after three weeks  of training many corps members would have become employers of labour there by become major contributors to the nations economic development.

The  Minister for Youths and Sports  Mr Sunday Dare commended the state government for its contributions towards youth and national development.
