Agency for adults and non formal education,flags of the distribution of learning and teaching materials

 The Board Chairman, agency for Adult and Non Formal Education Chief Victor Egbune has re affirmed Governments commitment at ensuring education for all.

Chief Egbune gave the affirmation at the flagging off and distribution teaching and learning materials for  Adult literacy Centres in various council areas held in Asaba

The Chairman, Board, Agency for Adult and Literacy Centre Chief Victor Egbune said the state have  105 learning Centres, 4 vocational Centres, with a total number of one thousand 1,732 persons

According to him, local government are to handle the responsibilities of recruiting and Paying instructors stipends, while commending LG Chairman for their support for the programme.

He noted that the agency was willing to established more volcational Centres based on advise

The board Chairman Agency for Adult and non formal education said the non formal education is key National growth and Development and called for support from NGOs, Spirited individual,faith based organization,DESOPDEC, NDDC  and corporate organisation to assist at ensuring success in mass literacy .

He advised on the need for adequate  distribution of the learning materials to the end users.

The Permanent Secretary of the Agency, Chief James Aguonge represented by the Director  Comrade Ernest Ossai said the flag off of the distribution of complimentary learning and  teaching materials was in furtherance of Governor Okowa's agenda of finishing strong.

He said the  Adult and non formal education was put in place for persons faced with Early marriage weak parental background, ignorance school dropout

Other factors include cultural Constraints, social and environmental  Challenges as well as poor personal well.

Some of the instructor interviewed said the council Chairmen should encourage them in order to promote Adult literacy.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of teaching and learning materials to selected Local Governments.

Other members of the board include high chief Mrs Veral Onosigho, High Chief  E O Olisenu,Mr Chuchhil Wesseyand Mrs Theresa Oliko who is also the  Director State Ministry of information.
