Commissioner Ofoni Charges, Contractors handling Government projects to work inline with Engineering Code of Conduct

 

The Commissioner, Directorate of project monitoring and Audit Chief Anthony Ofoni has
Called on contractors handling Government projects to meet up with schedule date of projects delivery.

The Commissioner  made the call during a supervision visit to  some of the project site in Ndokwa West

 Commissioner  Ofoni stressed the need for  contractors handling government projects in the State to  work inline with specification and Standard.

speaking at the  brigde  construction site linking kwale in Ndokwa West  and  Beneku community in Ndokwa east the commissioner appreciated the contractor handling the bridge  project as it was near completion

Chief Ofoni while on a supervision visit to a 4.24 kilometers road construction  at Obiokpu community said  the contractor should ensure that  governor Ifeanyi Okowa finishes strong by delivering   the project on or before the  Scheduled date of completion.
At the  Umuchime, ogbole road ogume    Road construction project site the commissioner directorate of projects monitoring requested that the Zonal supervisory engineer from the Ministry of Works  Mr Pere Akpodor to ensure that the company in charge of the project put certain logistics on ground that would promote safety  of  workers on site as well as provide poka vibration machine to enhance work efficiency.

He noted that construction work should be put on hold if the contractor refuses to work in line the engineering safety compliant rules and advised on the need for the contractors to meet  all engineering principles  to avoid structural failures

Chief Ofoni also stressed the need on sign post indicating the projects ownership and the contractor handling the project stressing that Government projects should be brought to the notice of Deltans

The contactor handling the Beneku bridge Engineer Manluda Aladan promised the state government that the kwale  Beneku bridge would be delivered  on April this year.

The Commissioner, was accompained by the permanent Secretary of the Directorate Mrs Patricia  Esejo and Political office holders on project monitoring.
