The I CARE Project Under the Ministry of Women Affairs has Commissioned a Bolehole and water extension  project.

The Commissioning which took place  at Obomkpa in Aniocha North local government, brought together Commissioners from Ministry of economic planning and the Women Affairs Ministry , as well as relivant  group under d cares project.

The Commissioner for Economic planning, and the Chairman State cares steering Committee Mr Barry gbe represented by the State project co ordinator Dr Patience Ogbewe who spoke before commissioning the water dispensing taps commended the Obomkpa People for the smooth implementation of the project from starting point to completion circle.

She advised the Obomkpa community, on the need to imbibe maintenance culture and commended  the  community Driven Development Social implementation unit CDDSIU for giving the community access to grants , supervision of the water project and  ensuring the success of the water bole hole project.

The Commissioner for women affairs Community and social Development Mrs Floral Alatan represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Mrs Oghenekevwe Agas stated,  the state government is commitment to driving the objective of the programme aimed at providing support to the rural dwellers.

She said the bole hole  water project was born out of government desire to reduce or curb the diverstating effect of COVID 19 and other related pipe borne water stressing that the guesture was a pre requisite for Democratic dividends.
The technical Head of the water project Mrs Adanimo Orubu called on Obomkpa people to take full ownership of the project and ensure it's sustainability.

The chairperson, Civil service Commission Dame Nkem Okuwofu thanked the state government for the successful completion of the project, while calling on all APC candidate who had. Benefited for  the proceed of the PDP to vote PDP in the forth coming election considering the various empowerment opportunity that had been enjoyed by the Obomkpa people.

The chairman,  Aniocha North  Honourable Kelvin represented by the Secretary of the Conucil, said the intervention which was driven with counterpart fund  was based on the actual need of the Obomkpa people and called for it sustainability.
