Humanitarian service has been considered as a catalyst to National development.

Active participation in community humanitarian service has been considered as a catalyst to National development.

The Delta State Commissioner for Water Resources Honourable Sam Marierie stated this while playing host to a community volunteer  group  in Asaba the Delta State Capital.

Honourable Marierie said  the gesture would strategically develop every sphere of human endeavour  and stressed that selfless services is a way of touching lives and improving social Justice.

In reference to the era of COVID-19, the Commissioner stated that he had embarked on humanitarian service to communities within his area of jurisdiction  and noted that not rendering such humanitarian service to communities could be considered as a great de service to humanity.

The leader of the group Mrs  Florence    Nwabuonwu said they are members of the community volunteer team, seeking support and creating awareness on the need to voluntarily render free services to communities, hence the call on relevant  agencies, groups and individuals to help provide the needed support.

She emphasized that based on the antecedent  and pedigree of the water Resources commissioner the group had thought it wise to reach out  him on the aim of the group and appealed for his support .

According to her, volunteerism , is providing services without expecting any thing in return, either by humanitarian service and in kind.

Present at the courtesy visit was a three time member of the Delta State House of Assembly   and also practicing medical Doctor Honourable Alphonsus Ojo.
