THE COMMISSIONER OF WATER RESOURCES X-RAYS THE ACTIVITIES OF THE MINISTRY IN THE LAST 10 MONTHS.

One hundred and twenty three water Scheme have been established by the Delta State Government. The State commissioner for Water Resources Honourable Sam Marierie stated this while briefing Journalist in Asaba. Honourable Sam Marierie said the Ministry has achieved a great feat since he assumed office ten months ago. According to him, the ministry has experienced stability by reorganizing the work force for optimal performance and noted that ,the success of the various Water scheme was as a result of governor Okowa's promise to deliver the dividend of democracy by providing access to potable water. Honourable Marierie said one hundred and twenty three water schemes were awarded either built afresh or rehabilitated and out of these one hundred and twenty three schemes 40 are to be built or rehabilitated by the World bank/FMWR/Delta State SURWASH Programme. He also noted that these schemes have just been awarded and the contractors have been mobilized with 25% down payment and it is expected that in the next 3months, Deltans will start enjoying the benefits of these schemes.
