THE DELTA STATE GOVERNMENT PROMISES IMMEDIATE REPAIR ON THE OGWASHI UKU BRIDGE

The Ogwashi Uku bridge in Aniocha south local government area has collapsed, leaving motorist to take longer alternative routes to get to their destination. Traders returning from Onitsha Market in Anambra State, spend more hours en'route ughelli, and warri Axis Many were seen carrying their bags and luggages to cross over on foot to take other vehicles. Reacting to the failed bridge, the Delta State Government, through the Commissioner for Works, Mr Noel Omordon, gave an assurance that commuters and road users that transverses the Ugheli/Asaba Road would soon have access, as government is doing all within his limit to ensure the road is fixed. He revealed that the temporary channel had been blocked and the failed portion was being piled with laterite and promised that with the on going construction work on the failed bridge the route will soon be open to vehicular movements.
