Delta State Government has asserted that the outcome of the National Congress of the Association of Nigerian Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) would assist various State Government including Delta with feedback to embellish decision making process to drive the education sector effectively.
The Permanent Secretary in the State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Augustine Oghoro stated this in Asaba when the ANCOPSS National body paid him a courtesy visit as part of activities for its National Delegates Congress in the State.
Sir Oghoro said that the State Government accepted to host the ANCOPSS Congress as a result of the fact that principals and school heads were key players in policy making process in the education system.
He described them members of ANCOPSS as those could interfaced on behalf of the government with its customers including parents and students.
Sir Oghoro reiterated that their feedback information to the government was critical in the policy making machinery as it would help to review, update, reset and direct programmes on education.
Earlier, the State President of ANCOPSS, Lady Winifred Emeni and the State Secretary, Comrade Mofe Otomi lauded their national president for his supports , saying that they were overwhelmed to have been received by the Ministry.
Lady Emeni, who reaffirmed her commitment to ensure that ANCOPSS under her watch in the state would continue to achieve its objectives and foster unity and harmony among members and urged the staff of the Ministry to participate in the congress.
Speaking further, Comrade (Mrs) Mofe Otomi and the State Chairman of NUT, Comrade Titus Okotie said the Oborevwori led administration would continue to do more to move the education sector in the state forward .
In his remarks, the National President of ANCOPSS, Mohammed IBN Musa told the Permanent Secretary Sir Oghoro that they were in the state for their National Congress where all principals in Nigeria would meet , adding that ANCOPSS was an association all school principals in Nigeria.
While appreciating Delta State Government for accepting to host the Congress despite the financial challenges confronting the Nation Musa described Delta State as a mini Nigeria.
He explained that they were expecting nothing less than 6000 delegates for the National Congress, stressing that there was relative peace in the state.
