COMMISSIONER ENBARKS ON A SUPERVISION VISIT TO WATER SCHEMES

The Delta State Commissioner for Water Resources Development Dr Wilkie has embacked on an inspection visit to ascertain the Conditions of Water Scheme in the State. He was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of water resources Department Dr Charles Diai, the General Manager,Rural water supply and sanitation Agency (RUWASSSA)Clem Adiotomre, the General Manager, Small Town water and Sanitation Agency ( STOWASSA ) and the Delta State Special Project Coordinator Dr Melody as well as some Staff of the water Resources Ministry to monitor projects The inspection took the Water Resources commissioner and his entourage to Evwrini, Uvwie kwale and Ibusa Communities as well as in Delta State where a total of six water scheme was supervised, with challenges highlighted The Programme Coordinator, Delta State - Sustainable Urban, Rural Water Supply and Hygiene (SURWASH) Programme Dr Melody Ogwezzy Complained that 25 percent of fund was released for a particular water scheme and only two percent of the water project has been executed stressing there was a restraining order on the job. Some residents of the area who spoke Commended the government for making water available to them While a community liaison officer at Evwrini stated some challenges faced inline with maintaining the bolehole
