OBOREVWORI HAS INTEREST OF EDUCATION AT HEART IN DELTA -------ALLANAH

The Education Secretary for Oshimili South Local Government Education Authority of Delta State, Comr.(Mrs) Allanah Oputa Otutu, has described Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori as a Governor with the interest of the education sectors at heart.

Comr. (Mrs.) Allanah stated this in her office during the screening/interview for applicants for employment into the primary school sub sector of the education system as primary school teachers.

She said that Oborevwori's administration was committed to the development of the education system, adding that the governor was a focused man.

Comr.(Mrs) Allanah stated that the state government gesture to employ primary school teachers was a right step in the right direction, stressing that it was a strategic approach to empower those with qualifications in education by tackling unemployment in the state.

The ES explained that the responsibility of the Education Secretary was to collaborate with the Commissioners of Education and Permanent Secretaries in Education Ministries and that of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) to move the education system forward especially in the areas of inspection and relevant inputs to change the narratives in the sector.

Comr.(Mrs) , who emphasised that qualifed applicants would be recruited on merit, recalled that as the Education Secretary, she has been working in synergy with the Chairman of the council to ensure that there adequate and effective awareness creation for the exercise through the media apart from sending text messages to them for them to be available for the interview.

In an interview with some of the applicants including Ijeh Isioma Naomi, Allanah Benedicta, Nkem Achusim , Eluaka Jindu , Onyeka Awele Rosemary and Olivia Nnedinfe , they commended the State Governor for graciously approving the recruitment of teachers in the state and described the screening and interview process as transparent.

They pledged to discharge their responsibility diligently by inculcating good morals on the children and impact more positively on them to embrace education more as well as bring more value to the education sector.
