The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has sworn-in 2,373 youth corps members of the 2023 Batch ‘C’ Stream ‘II’ set deployed to Delta State for a one year national service.
The Delta State Governor Honourable Sheriff Oborevwori who declared the orientation course open at Issele Uku in Aniocha North Local government area, congratulated them on successful completion of their academic pursuits which qualified them for national service.
The governor represented by Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development Mr Isaac Agbateyiniro said, the orientation course was designed to instill the necessary skills and leadership values and will arm the corps members with the abilities to participation in this one-year programme.
According to him, the training in the camp may be demanding, but would provide an opportunity for Corps members to be engaged in Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme.
Oborevwori urged, Corp members to diligently serve their service year with dedication and patriotism.
The State Coordinator of NYSC. Mr Olusegun Alao urged prospective Corps Members to recognize that the NYSC Scheme is a once-in- a-lifetime opportunity, urging them to make optimal use of it.
He noted that awards would be given at the end of the service year to those who distinguish themselves
