DTSG FROWNS AT UNAUTHORIZED COMMERCIAL MOTORCYCLE AND TRICYCLE BODIES

The Delta State  Commissioner for Transport  Honourable Onoriode Agofure has called on the general public,Deltans particularly Commercial Motorcycle rider known as  (Okada) and Tricycle rider known as (keke) Operating in the state,
 that some bodies known  as Almagamated Commercial Motorcycle Owners Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), Tricycle Owners Association of Nigeria (TOAN) and Motorcycle Owners Union of Nigeria (MOUN), are not responsible for the collection of the State government Tax

Accordingly, perceived members of ACOMORAN,TOAN and MOUN are warned to desist from  provocative actions that would lead to breakdown of law and order or face the full wrath of the law


That Government also frowns at their publication in the Pointer News paper,  on Wednesday January 10th,2024 page 10 and Bridge FM Radio  on Friday 12th January,2024, concerning these publications.


 The State Government only  approved  and recognized  of   Commercial Motorcycle and Tricycle Operators Association (COMTOA), for the collection of Daily Road Tax, as well as  taking full responsibilities  at Organizing Coordinating , Supervising  and Manage the activities of Commercial Motorcycle and Tricycle Operators in the State.

All these pronouncement and publications have been viewed as mischievous and a calculated attempt to cause rancour in the State Transport Sector, as well as to  incite  the masses, the Commercial Motorcycle and Tricycle Operators against the laudable efforts of the State Government at ensuring that there is Peace and orderliness across the State.

The Statement adds that the Commissioner of Transport Mr Onoriode Agofure therefore calls on the general public, Deltans and all Commercial Motorcycle and Tricycle Operators  to work  within the purview of the state government on the collection of levy.

According to the statement the State government only approved Three Hundred (#300)naira Daily Road Tax for commercial Tricycle and Two hundred (#200)naira for commercial Motorcycle operators

The Commercial Motorcycle and Tricycle riders are therefore advised to comply fully with COMTOA,as the only body recognized by Government in the State.
