WIAN WORKSHOP FOR FARMERS AS A BUSINESS MODEL

The LIFE- ND women in agriculture Network Delta State Chapter took a center stage at a comprehensive training program put in place to empower grassroot farmers The Training held at the professor Chike Edozie Secretariat's Asaba the Delta State Capital was aimed at equipping women with the skills and knowledge needed to enhance their roles in farming operations. Co -Ordinator and EXCO Members of Women in Agriculture Network LIFE-ND from the 25 local government Areas of the State, were trained to foster support for Women farmers with a view to learning new skill. An Expert facilitator Mrs Eze Owenz who is also the President Delta State Women in Agriculture Network LIFE-ND, engaged participants on topics to include the "Group Dynamics and Leadership Skills", "Business Management and Entrepreneurial Skill" as well as the Fundamentals of Micro Enterprise, emphasis was also on sustainable and eco-friendly farming practices, aligning with global efforts to promote environmental conscious in agricultural practice. Mrs Owenz underscored ways agriculture could promote the gross domestic index of the nation if technology is put to play while also suggesting ways to attract partnership with financial institutions with a view to better the operations of Women in Agriculture Network LIFE-ND in the State. The Delta State Youth and Gender Officer LIFE - ND MRS Paula Omare while emphasizing on the "overview of LIFE- ND Projects in the state" said LIFE - ND PROJECT is carried out in collaboration with the Delta State government, Federal government,and the International fund for Agricultural Development ( IFAD) with special emphasis on Women and Youth She added that the gesture was to promote gender equality, and reduce poverty amongst women and Youths, even as she called on Women in Agriculture to create an environment that would promote the activities of WIAN in the State. The LIFE- ND Delta State Communication Officer Mr Demian Omare engaged the Women on Practical demonstrations and interactive session aimed to equipped participants with the skills to promoting efficiency and productivity in their endeavors.
