The National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), Delta State Chapter, has disassociated itself from what it described as baseless and stage managed meeting at Ozoro where it was reported that the education stakeholders in the state called for the redeployment of the Permanent Secretary in the State Ministries of Primary and Secondary, Mr. Augustine Oghoro.
In a statement jointly signed by the State Chairman of NAPPS, Dcn. Young Precious Nwanne and the Secretary of the Association, Mrs. Rose Obi, NAPPS said that it was neither part of the meeting and would not have supported such decision, which it said was uncalled for in all ramifications.
The Delta State NAPPS clarified that the Association had no knowledge of the existence of any other Association as Delta State Private and Public Schools Principals Forum (DSPPSPF) , adding that no NAPPS members were part of such Association as NAPPS principals do not belong to any Forum with public school principals.
According to the statement, no NAPPS members attended any meeting in Ozoro as stated in the online publication, emphasising that NAPPS in Delta State have nothing against any of the two Commissioners and the Permanent Secretary in charge of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, Mr. Augustine Oghoro.
The Association, however, described Mr. Oghoro as a consummate and talented administrator, whose systematic approach and unwavering commitment to service delivery has contributed in the upliftment of the education sector ever since he became the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry.
It noted that NAPPS was not ready to be used as a tool to unleash unhealthy rivalry in the education system by condemning a very responsible and unassuming personality in the person of Mr. Oghoro, who had continued to demonstrate capacity and wisdom in handling issues concerning the growth of the education sector , but would be focused on its objective of providing qualitative education to the state.
While expressing their implicit confidence in the ability of Mr. Oghoro in consolidating the pivotal role he has been playing in taking the education sector to enviable heights in the state, the State NAPPS , therefore passed a vote of confidence on Mr. Oghoro.
