Prophet Joseph Igbodo, General Overseer of Divine Faith Evangelical Mission International, on Tuesday said that the church will empowered no fewer than 1,000 widows in an effort to cushion the impact of the economic hardship and to commemorate the Easter celebration.
Igbodo, speaking with newsmen in Agbor, Ika South Local Government area (LGA), said that 1,000 widows in two local governments in Delta State will benefit from the empowerment.
The clergyman said that the empowerment programme would take place on March 27 and March 28.
He said that the widows cut across Alifekede, Emuhu, Oza-Zonogo, Alishimie, Abavo, Idumuesah, Igbodo, Umunede and Owa-Oyibu, in both Ika South and Ika North East Local Government Areas of Delta State.
Igbodo who doubles as proprietor of Job Orphanage and St. Stephen’s Trust Widows Home, said that bags of rice, cartons of noddles, cartons of biscuit, packets of detergent, toiletries, and other food items would be distributed to the widows.
The general overseer said that the essence of the empowerment was to cushion the effects of hardship and to commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Easter celebration).
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Igbodo had in the last 10 years consistently empowered no fewer than 10,000 widows and orphans across Delta and Edo states. NAN
