In a statement issued by the Vice President NAWOJ says the United Nation has set aside the 8th day of March yearly , to celebrate Women and fight against injustice and other voices inimical to the growth and development of the womenfolk.
According to Comrade Macaulay,with the 2024 campaign theme as " Invest in women , Accelerate Progress, Global Equity through Economic and leadership empowerment ," focusing on addressing economic challenges and the inability for women to access leadership role in governance , appealed to South South governors to put modalities on ground that would create economic opportunities for women In the zone.
Comrade Macaulay advised Women to also make themselves useful, and shun act that will deprive government from reaching out to them.
The South South Vice President NAWOJ said Women should create an enabling environment that will put them in the fore front to gain government assistance.
She stressed the need for inclusion of women in the policies and programmes of government to achieve the theme for the 2024 international Women's Day.
