Delta state government approves 3 billion Naira for medical equipment across the state.


The Delta state government has approved  3 billion Naira to procure medical equipment for 20 General Hospitals across the state.

The State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza disclosed this while briefing Journalists on the outcome of the state executive council meeting held at government house, Asaba, the Delta State capital.


He noted that the procurement which marked the second phase of equipment supply, stressing  that over 60  equipment had already been put to used at the 20 general hospitals in the state

Dr. Osuoza also announced that the executive council has approved the release of funds for the 2022/2023 session bursary scheme, which is set to benefit over 30,000 students with an amount of N20,000 each.

He stated that Exco approved an upward revision of the contract for the uncompleted library unit within the basic sciences building at the College of Health Sciences, Oghara, in the Ethiope West local government area of the state.

The  Commissioner for Works (Rural and Riverine Roads), Mr. Charles Aniagwu, revealed that the state government approved the sum of N2 billion to compensate individuals whose houses, and other infrastructures were within the right of way for the Enerhen/Effurun flyover.

Mr Aniagwu explained  that the compensation cost was to ensure a smooth sail of the construction work
