The Permanent Secretary, Delta State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Augustine Oghoro, has urged civil servants in the state to always embrace investment initiative plan that would bring economic benefits to them before and after retirement.
Oghoro stated this in Asaba while addressing staff of the Ministry during an enlightenment lecture on how civil servants could prepare for retirement and after retirement, organized by the Africa Green Gate Limited.
Represented by the Director of Administration in the Ministry, Mr. Benard Onyebuke, the Permanent Secretary noted that though a good number of civil servants perceived life after retirement as difficult as a result of the termination of their monthly salary except their gratuity and pensions that might sometimes delay .
He said that Investment in certain things that they could yield economic benefits would go a long way in taking care of their economic needs especially in their oldage.
Oghoro, who commended the Africa Green Gate Limited for their land banking investment through real estate management, advised civil servants to take advantage of the initiative to own landed property.
He described land investment as one of the best means of economic sustainability, adding that investment in land was a good business as it would continue to appreciate for the benefit of the buyer.
Earlier, the Managing Director (MD) of Africa Green Gate Limited, Mr. Festus Ogbogoro , a real estate developer, lauded the Oborevwori Administration for its development strides across the state.
Ogbogoro said that Africa Green Gate Limited had acquired several acres of land in Warri axis and Delta Central and called on civil servants to partner with them by purchasing a plot of land , emphasizing that the state government had strongly indicated development plan for the area.
He said that the beginning of every business was real estate such as the acquisition of land and property development, stressing that land was the only product that appreciated regularly.
He identified government development plan and value that was added as the two critical factors that influenced land appreciation.
