The Delta State Governor, Honourable Sheriff Oborevwori has met with President Bola Tinubu over the killing of 17 military personnel in Okuama community in Ughelli South Local Government Area of the state.
Briefing journalist after meeting behind closed-doors with President Bola Tinubu, Governor Oborevwori said that the situation was under control, assuring that modalities are on ground to fore store further crisis
He said that Delta state and the Federal government have condemned the incident, promising that perpetrators would be apprehended and made to face the wrath of the law, stressing that his visit to the presidency was to brief the President of the happening at Okuama community in Delta State and how far he has gone to put an end to the lingering crisis.
He said: on the 7th of February 2024 parties involved in the crisis were invited by the state government, and an agreement was reached by the parties to work together noting that at the end of the meeting ,the parties signed a peace accord. Promising to maintain peace and to work together
According to him, he recently visited Bomadi for a security meeting to get full briefing on the issues as well as fashion out way to put an end to the crisis.
