(NAPTIP) Zonal Coordinator Mr Nduka Nwawenne has declared Delta State foremost State in human trafficking

The Zonal Commander of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons ( NAPTIP), Nduka Nwawenne has declared Delta State the foremost State in human trafficking in Nigeria, followed closely by Edo State, and others.

Mr Nwawenne disclosed this in Asaba, Delta State Capital when his  team met Attorney -General and Commissioner for justice, 
Mr. Ekemejero Ohwovoriole at his office 

 He pointed out that Ika South local government area was the highest in cases of human trafficking in the State Due to  its proximity with Edo State

 Mr Nwawenne appealed to the state government and other stakeholders to provide office accommodation to the group  in Asaba.

The Delta State Attorney -General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ekemejero Ohwovoriole, SAN said , human trafficking  was against the dignity of the state and disheartening to see that Delta State now ranked first in human trafficking, overtaking Edo State .

He stressed the need for stakeholders to tackle the menace, adding that there  would be rewarded for their efforts.

According to him , young girls were the most vulnerable ones in the issue of human trafficking, stressing that children from poor family background also fell victims to the men,  and assured them  of his Ministry's partnership in the fight against human trafficking.
