The conduct of the second term examination for 2023/2024 Academic Session have commenced in all public primary and secondary schools across Delta State.
In line with its routine guidelines, officials of the State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education were in different parts of the state to monitor the examination.
At the Government Model Secondary School, Asaba and Westend Mixed Secondary School, as well as Osadenis Mixed Secondary School, also in Asaba, the Principals of the schools, Dr. Mrs. Obiajulu Eboka , Mrs. August Ogeah and Mrs. Patience Aguonye lauded the stakeholders in the education sector for their unwavering efforts towards ensuring that the academic calendar was achieved as planned.
They reiterated their commitment to continue to impact on the school system and the learners in particular, adding that teachers in their schools had always worked assiduously to inculcate both academic and moral discipline in the children.
While appealing to the state government provide more intervention in public schools in order to meet the expectations of the people, Dr. Mrs. Eboka said that her school needed more furniture .
Some of the students, who spoke to messmen said that they were happy to write their second term examination, stressing that they would improve on their first term performances .
Meanwhile, the education managers in charge of Ministries of Primary and Secondary Education including the Commissioner for Primary Education, Dr. Kingsley Ashibogwu, his counterpart in charge of Ministry of Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu, the Permanent Secretary in Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Augustine Oghoro and the Director of Examinations in Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mrs. Clementina Ojumah have expressed satisfaction with the conduct the examination.
In a chat with the Chairman of the Association of Primary School Heads of Nigeria (AOPSHON), Comr. Edward Mesere , he described the conduct of the examination in his area as hitch free and appreciated the state government for always ensuring that nothing distorted its academic activities in schools just as he noted that the smooth implementation of the academic calendar was for the overall benefits of the education sector and the learners in particular.
