IDP committee to liaise between government and Okuoma Community

The Delta  State Governor ,  Honourable Sheriff Oborevowri has  inaugurated a committee that will take care of the affairs of the internally displaced persons  at Okuoma  Community in Ughelli South local government Area

 This was put in place shortly after the resolution of the crisis between the Nigerian Army and the Indigenes of the Okuoma  community

The inauguration ceremony which took place  on Wednesday 24 , 2024 was to bring succour to. the  people of Okuama community 
 

Members of the committee include veteran journalist and former Editor of The Guardian Newspaper, Mr Abraham Ogbodo as Chairman and Director of Personnel Management, DPM, Ughelli South Local Government Council, Chief Austin Emaduku as Secretary.

Other members were Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo, Hon. Festus Utuama, Hon. Reuben Izeze, Dr Richard Kofi, Chief Oviri Uto, Hon. Josephine Oduaran, Obukohwo Henry Ediyo, Karo Ovemeso and Austin Ohwofaria who will serve as Camp Commandant.

The governor,  urged members of the committee to work with a sense of urgency stressing that the state assignment requires, assurance to the people,  as well as  transparent, 

He stressed  that the  selfless  service should be thoroughly handled  while addressing the humanitarian crisis in Okuama.

 According to him , the committee is to  act  as a liaison between government and Okuoma  Community
