OGHORO MEETS STAFF OF AGRIC MINISTRY, CALLS FOR SYNERGY TO ACHIEVE OBOREVWORI'S MORE AGENDA IN AGRIC SECTOR

The Permanent Secretary, Delta State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education and the coordinating PS for the State Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources,  Mr. Augustine Oghoro, has called for synergy from the staff so as to  achieve the MORE Agenda of the Oborevwori led administration in the agricultural sector.

Oghoro stated this in Asaba while addressing staff of Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources during his official resumption as the Permanent Secretary overseeing the Ministry following the approval of the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for the assignment of the responsibility through a circular from the Office of the State Head of Service.

 

He recalled that  during his time in about six years ago as the Permanent Secretary, agriculture was changed to agric business for the benefits of the state .

Oghoro said that he needed to hit the ground running, hence the need to meet with the staff of the Ministry and reminded them that they should redouble their commitment to move the Ministry forward.

He said that Delta State had vast resources, particularly under the agricultural sector as contained in its 2024 budget, stressing that the state government was investing so much money to develop the sector.

Oghoro told them that the Ministry would be applauded when there was tremendous improvement, explaining that in one way or the other , their duties in the office had multiplier effects in their lives as well as help them to develop their homes.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary in Ministry of Water Resources, Dr. Charles Diai, who was overseeing the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources before the recent development, said that he was temporarily filling the gap .

Dr. Diai stated that they had been coordinating a lot of things , noting that the bulk of the activities of the Ministry depended on the Department of Agric Services and thanked staff of the ministry for their cooperation and support.
