The Police operatives attached to Abraka Division, have reportedly killed a Suspected kidnapper
at Abraka community, Ethiope East local government area
The spokeman for the command, SP Bright Edafe who confirmed the killing, said on April 26, 2024, at about 0900hours, said the command received an intelligence report that some suspected kidnappers were at Okuno, Orogun, in a hide out with some kidnapped victims.
SP Edafe said the State Police Commissioner, Abaniwonda Olufemi on receivd of the information, directed the DPO, SP Fabian Ayameh, to swiftly mobilized his men, alongside members of the Abraka vigilante, and hunters group, to storm the bush.
He said , the suspected kidnappers engaged them in a fierce gun duel during which one of the suspect sustained serious gunshot injuries while others escaped.
According to the Police image maker,
the injured suspect was taken to the hospital but died while receiving treatments.
According to him, One AK-47 rifle and 11 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition was recovered from the kidnappers two kidnapped victim was rescued unhurt.
SP Bright Edafe also confirmed the arrest of a 38-year-old motorcycle rider, Orji Timothy in connection with a sizeable quantity of weeds suspected to be Indian Hemp.
He stated that on April 24, 2024, at about 1445hrs, Eagle Net Special Squads
when search, a sizeable quantity of weeds suspected to be Indian Hemp was recovered,
The Police also discovered a Locally Made Double Barrel Pistol with Two Live Cartridges, 20 Sachets of 100mg Tramadol, One Sachet of Swinol, and Two Cutlasses at the Suspect resident
