Vice President zone F Urges Female Journalist to join in tackling Malaria, as World Malaria Day 2024: is being marked


As the World Over Marks the 2024 World Malaria day Female Journalist in  the South - South Zone of Nigeria have been advised on the need to tackle the menaces cause by Mosquitoes.


The Vice President South South zone of the Nigerian Association of Women Journalist Comrade Stella Macaulay says all female Journalist within the zone  should raise  public awareness   educating the world  about Malaria it's   prevention and treatment. In line with the 2024 theme "Accelerating the fight against Malaria for a more equitable day "

The Vice President South South Zone who is also a director in the Delta State Ministry of information urged all female Journalist  to get involved  in  reportage  and  research work , as well as highlight the impact of the disease on individuals, families, and communities, with a view to putting an end to the disease 


Comrade Macaulay  stressed the need for Journalist all over to highlight the  challenges  associated with malaria, it's prevention and control efforts, nothing that  Journalists have an important role to play in combating Malaria 

She said raising awareness could help increase understanding and  ways  to improved  the fight against malaria.
stressing that the analysis and statistics carried out  by journalist  could also help  policymakers, and other stakeholders to 
completely eradicate Malaria 

News Tribe Communications report that the World Malaria Day,  is marked  annually on April 25, with a view to  highlight the progress made so far  in the fight against malaria, as well as the challenges that still exist.

She noted that,  this  year, the World, the  Health Organization (WHO) had  called  for a renewed efforts to reduce malaria deaths and malaria transmission.



The WHO reports that despite significant progress in recent years, malaria remains a  threat to many in different parts of the world, with more than 200 million cases of malaria reported each year.
