The Diokpa -Isi of Okpanam Kingdom, Ogbueshi Snr. Apostle Joseph Igwueagu Aninyei has appealed to the people of Okpanam community to give him and the Ugoani of Okpanam Kingdom, HRM , Dr. Michael Mbanefo Ogbulu their unwavering support as they are committedly determined to lead the community in the right direction.
Ogbueshi Snr. Apostle Aninyei made the call in his residence during his installation/coronation as the Diokpa-Isi (oldest man ) of Okpanam community.
While describing his coronation as the Diokpa-Isi of Okpanam Kingdom as God's ordained, Ogbueshi Snr. Apostle Aninyei said that he was overwhelmed by the love the people of that community, the Christian community especially the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria had shown to him .
Ogbueshi Snr. Apostle Aninyei pledged to always put the interest of the citizens Okpanam and the residents of the community above personal interest, adding that it was his wish that the community witnessed all round transformation during his tenure.
He, however, stressed the need for peace, love and unity of the community and prayed for progress of all sons and daughters as well as the residents of the community.
Earlier, the Ugoani of Okpanam Kingdom, HRM, Dr. Michael Mbanefo Ogbulu enjoined the good people of the community to contribute meaningfully towards the socioeconomic development of the community.
He promised to give the newly coronated Diokpa -Isi of Okpanam Kingdom all the needed support and cooperation to enable him succeed considering the fact his success of his regime was his success, explaining that the Diokpa -Isi of Okpanam was now the head of customary and traditional matters in the community.
In an interview with newsmen, a community leader and the Ikediani of Okpanam Kingdom, Chief Felix Okafor, the Akpe of Ubulu-Uku kingdom, Chief Dr. (Sir) Okelue John Okpoli , FCIA , the Personal Assistant to the Diokpa on Welfare Matters, Mr. Patrick Onyemenue ,Rev. Michael Ojaduwefe of City of Great Lord Mission, and one of the sons of the Diokpa -Isi of Okpanam, Engr. Gabriel Ogechukwuka Aninyei as well as the former Chairman of Ogbeozoma Youths, Mr. Smart Ifesindi said that the day was designed by God.
Chief Okpoli emphasised that the coronation implied that the oldest man in the kingdom took the affairs of the leadership of the community.
Speaking further, Engr. Gabriel Aninyei described his father as an epitome of honesty and discipline, adding that he was devoted to serving God at all times.
Chief Okafor specifically stated that the reign of the new Diokpa -Isi of Okpanam would usher peace and progress in the community, noting that the new Diokpa was a man of grace just as he says that he was happy to be part and parcel of the ceremony right from the preparation stage till the day of the coronation.
