ASHIBOGWU COMMENDS ROTARY CLUB OF ASABA FOR DONATING WATER SCHEME TO CIE'S OFFICE

Delta State Government (DTSG), has commended the Rotary Club of Asaba Downtown, District 9141 Nigeria for donating a water supply scheme to the Office of the Chief Inspector of Education, Oshimili South Local Government Area of the state.

The State Commissioner for Primary Education, Dr. Kingsley Ashibogwu made the commendation in Asaba while  inaugurating the project.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary in charge of Ministries of Primary and Secondary Education, Mr. Augustine Oghoro , the Commissioner said that the gesture has brought joy to the the Ministries and described it as worthy of emulation.

Dr. Ashibogwu stated that it was a mission accomplished that there was water in the Office of the CIE after 40 years, stressing that the Rotary Club has been known for selfless service to humanity.

He noted that the initiative was encouraging to everyone that would want to express the desire to give back to the society.

In her remarks, the  visibly elated Chief Inspector of Education for Oshimili South, Lady Emiliana Djoma recalled the stress and pain  the staff of her office passed through since 40 years without water , emphasizing that Rotary had brought succour to them .

Djoma , however, appreciated the Rotary Club of Asaba for finding her office worthy to benefit from  their humanitarian service and promised to maintain and protect the water facility.

Earlier, the Assistant Governor of the District, Rtn. Philip Agbeyeke and the President of Rotary Club of Asaba Downtown, Rtn. Nnamdi Honnah, who is a  Paul Harris Fellow, explained that Rotary Club was all about giving back to the society, adding that as part of her social responsibility, Rotary often responded to the needs of its immediate environment.

They said that before the project was conceived, there was need assessment of the Office of the CIE and approval was given for the project by their District Governor.

While urging the Chief Inspector of Education and her staff to always cary out proper maintenance of the water scheme , Rtn. Agbeyeke encouraged his members to continue to contribute their quota towards sustaining the objectives of Rotary Club.

The ceremony was attended by the State Commissioner for Science and Technology, Hon. Odinigwe Daniel who is one of the  Rotarians in the District.
