The Agbagadapu  Landlords and  Tenants Association in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State has described the late Oza-Okita of Okpanam Kingdom, Chief Dr. Stephen Okonta as a formidable force and a great pillar in the upliftment of Okpanam community and Agbagadapu in particular.
The Chairman of the Association, Mr. Festus Edoreh stated this at the Summerfield Hotel residence of the late community leader when he led members of the Association on a condolence visit to the only son of the deceased, Mr. Henry Chukwunwike Okonta.

Edoreh, who recalled the efforts of Chief Dr. Okonta to give Agbagadapu area a facelift, noted that they had always joined hands with him to attract  development to the area .

While saying that Chief Okonta was a leader with good heart,  Mr. Edoreh stated that they had lost an iconic personality in the area.
Edoreh said that apart from individual and collective efforts, Agbagadapu had not witnessed any government presence despite the overwhelming support from the people of the area to People's Democratic Party (PDP), adding that government had not built any road for them but kept promising them .

He , however, urged the state government to carry out road construction and rehabilitation in Agbagadapu and lauded the state government for baning okada riders because of the nuisance and security threats they tend to pose to the society.

Earlier, the son of the deceased, Mr. Chukwunwike Okonta thanked the Agbagadapu Landlords and Tenants Association for identifying with him and the  entire Okonta family.
He said that the attributes of his father were unequalled, noting that his death had created a great vacuum in the family and assured that he would strive to sustain his legacies and strengthen unity the existing unity in the family.
