DTSG ORGANIZES JETS STATE FINAL FOR STUDENTS IN DELTA

In a bid to  encourage and reawaken  science consciousness in children, the Delta State Government, has organized the State final of the Junior Engineer's, Technicians and Scientist (JETS) Competition for Junior and Senior Secondary School students in the state.

Speaking at the event which held in Government Model Secondary School, Asaba , the Acting Director, Department of Science Education ,  Ministry of  Secondary Education, Sir(Dr.) Steve Igheghe said that the JETS competition was designed to draw the attention of the children to the knowledge of science.
Sir(Dr.) Igheghe , who was speaking on behalf of the Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu, stated that 36 students qualifed from the preliminary stage of the competition were the selected students for the state final based on their performances .

He said that the 36 students were made up of 18 for junior category and 18 also for the senior category, emphasizing that the state government supported the students in the area of their transportation to participate in the competition.
Sir(Dr.) Igheghe explained that the best 3 students in each of the categories would represent Delta State at the national level of the competition , saying that in the event the representatives emerged top at the national level, they would receive prizes.

He urged the students to believe in themselves and put in their best in the competition.
