President Bola Tinubu and the Leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress as well as that of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria have agreed on 70,000 Naira as the new National Minimum wage
This was mentioned during a meeting at the Presidential Villa, at Abuja.
According to the leaders of the two bodies the 70 000 Naira new minimum wage will replace the N30,000 Naira minimum wage,
The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, confirmed that the lawmakers would get the executive bill on the new minimum wage soon
He stressed that this would give a legal backing to the new minimum wage agreement ahead of its implementation.
While the organised private sector proposed N62,000, organised labour demanded N250,000.
