Heads of public primary schools in Delta State, have reiterated their unwavering commitment towards upholding policies and programmes of the state government as part of their concerted efforts in driving the M.O.RE agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori's administration.
The State Chairman of the Association of Heads of Primary Schools(AOPSHON), Comr. Edward Mesere stated this in Ughelli while speaking with newsmen shortly after school resumption for the commencement of the first term 2024/2025 academic activities.
Comr. Mesere , who said that it would not be business as usual for teachers that had not been putting in their best in their statutory responsibility, noted that the association under his watch would not tolerate absenteeism, late coming by head teachers and other teachers.
He lauded the Commissioner for Primary Education, Dr. Kingsley Ashibogwu and the Chairman of the State Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Chief (Barr.) Samuel Mariere for their consistent efforts in ensuring the growth of the education system.
The chairman emphasized the need for teachers to redouble their commitment for the purpose of effective teaching .
Comr. Mesere, however, urged parents and guardians to take the education needs of their children and wards seriously by ensuring that they always equipped their children with educational materials such as notebooks, textbooks and other instructional materials as obtained in private schools.

The State AOPSHON Chairman appealed to the state government to increase funding for public primary schools, adding that the cost of educational and instructional materials had gone up due to increase in high cost of transportation as a result of the upsurge in the pump price of fuel .
