WEOG Applaud Okekpolo On UN Eminent Award

The International Forum for Women in Energy, Oil, and Gas (WEOG) has congratulated Mrs. Ogochuku Okekpolo on her recent appointment as a United Nations Eminent Ambassador.

Recall that Okekpolo, the founding Director of the Delta State Chapter of the International Forum for Women in Energy, Oil, and Gas, was recently honoured with the UN Eminent Ambassador Award during the 6th Annual Peace Conference in Abuja.

In a media statement, the Pioneer Director of the International Forum for Women in Energy, Oil, and Gas, Rivers State Chapter,  Sandra Agho, praised Okekpolo’s achievements, highlighting her dedication to societal progress and advocacy for women in the energy sector.

In her words: "This award is evidence to her (Okekpolo's) dedication to peacebuilding, reconciliation, and societal progress. Her advocacy for women's empowerment inspires many to break down barriers and reach their full potential.”
Agho, who doubles as the Managing Director of Noranova Resources Company Limited lauded Okekpolo’s leadership and commitment, describing her as a role model for women striving to make a difference. 

“Your remarkable contributions extend beyond your immediate community, leaving an indelible mark on society at large,” she said.
Highlighting Okekpolo’s impact on fostering a more inclusive and harmonious society, Agho noted that the award is a fitting acknowledgment of her exceptional achievements. 

Agho emphasized that Okekpolo’s dedication to peace and empowerment sets a new standard for leadership in the sector, urging others to follow in her footsteps. 

“Her influence is bound to grow, inspiring more women to step up, lead, and drive change in their communities,” she added.
