Chukwuma Underscores Significance Of New Yam , Ekwesu Festival

A retired Permanent Secretary in the Delta State Civil Service,  Ogbuiji Augustine Chukwuma, has described the Ekwesu festival of Onicha Ukwuani as a symbol of their rich cultural heritage .

Ogbuiji Chukwuma stated in his country home Ike-Onicha , Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State while speaking with newsmen shortly after the commencement of their new yam  festival.
He said that the festival was designed to showcase their unity and love for one another, adding that new yam festival was unique in all sincerity as it was a period of harvest and to thank God for bountiful harvest.

Ogbuiji Chukwuma, who is the Onochie Eze of Onicha Ukwuani , implored the people of Onicha Ukwuani especially the youths to be industrious and disciplined at all times.
He advised them to be hardworking and prayerful, stressing that they should always put their trust in God for all things.

He congratulated the people of Onicha Ukwuani on their new yam festival, saying that their festival had continued to provide platform for their unity .
