Women to strengthen, Agriculture Network

In a bid to ensure food security, the Delta state Co Ordinator , Nigeria Women in Agricultural business Co Operative Society NIWAB has called on female farmers to form clusters to improve the value food chain in the Agricultural sector. The State Co Ordinator NIWAB, a legal luminary, Ogheneronhovwomen Bethel Ifeanyichukwu stated this while speaking with Journalist in Asaba the Delta state Capital. The State Coordinator represented by the President , women in Agricultural network, Mrs Fedelia Eze Owenz who is also the Secretary NIWAB noted that women involved in Agricultural businesses would be arranged into clusters to form a co Operative, and would later engage them through seminars and workshop to learn the modern trend in Agricultural practice. She noted, that WAIN would be collaborating with NIWAB with a view to move more women out of poverty and improve the social economic growth of the Nation. According to her, both bodies would help to complement the effort of the State Government and Federal Government by ensuring food security, establishing “Mini-Agro Processing” businesses for members across the six geo-political zones. She noted that the NIWAB and WAIN would also join force with Local Governments, State Governments, Federal Government, as well as Local and International Development Partners to provide quarterly training on crop and livestock production, processing, packaging, storage ,marketing, and cooperative best practices to members She said market women would also be organized into Primary Cooperatives Societies that will be affiliated with the Nigerian Women in Agricultural Business Cooperative Society limited While explaining that strategies would be put on ground to curb the insecurity challenges between farmers and herdsmen, in the state.
